What is a sprinkler riser room? In a nutshell, a fire sprinkler riser room is a space designated for fire protection equipment situated on an outside wall at grade with direct exterior access. A water motor gong, or a bell that sounds when water flows through the sprinkler system is often installed on the outside wall of the sprinkler riser room.
How does a fire sprinkler riser work? As a fire sprinkler discharges, water flows out of the pipe or or branch line, to which it is connected. When this happens water moves through the system riser to refill the branch line. The resulting changes in flow and pressure are monitored at the riser by electronic devices called water flow switches.
What is the difference between dry riser systems and wet riser system/ Dry and wet risers ? A dry riser is made up of a system of valves and pipework that enable the Fire Service to pump water up to upper floors of the building at hand. A wet riser is made up of a system of valves and pipework that are kept permanently filled with water
